On May 29, our school opened the doors to Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory—not once, but twice in one unforgettable day. In the morning, we welcomed students from other schools to a special showing, and later that evening, parents, friends, and community members filled the auditorium for the grand performance.

From the very first golden ticket to the last bow, both audiences were treated to a magical journey through Roald Dahl’s classic tale. Charlie Bucket’s story warmed hearts, Willy Wonka’s eccentric charm sparked laughter, and the Oompa-Loompas delivered their mischievous songs with playful energy that had the whole crowd smiling.

A Sweet Beginning

The day kicked off with a special morning performance for local schools. Students filled the Canada Event Centre, their faces lit with anticipation. As the lights dimmed and the curtain rose, the audience was immediately captivated by the colourful set that resembled a candy wonderland.

Afternoon Rehearsals and Last-Minute Touches

After the morning show, the cast and crew took a brief break to recharge. The excitement lingered in the air as they prepared for the evening performance. Backstage, the atmosphere buzzed with a mix of nerves and excitement. Students practiced their lines, adjusted their costumes, and shared laughs to ease the pre-show tension.

The teachers and volunteers worked tirelessly to ensure everything was perfect for the evening audience. From adjusting the lighting to fine-tuning the sound, every detail was vital in creating the enchanting experience that Willy Wonka’s factory promised.

The Grand Performance

With the Canada Event Centre packed, the lights dimmed once again, and the show began. The evening performance was nothing short of spectacular. The cast shone brightly under the stage lights, delivering their lines with confidence and flair.

One of the standout moments was the enchanting river scene, where the stage transformed into a dazzling chocolate river tunnel, complete with a beautifully handcrafted boat that carried the magic even further.
